Book Movies I Own or Want to Own
Welcome to Listful Mondays again! Today's list was not difficult, but did require much roaming the house to find all the movie stashes. (And I'm in now way certain I found them all.) What I found interesting is there are many movies I have which I don't automatically think of as "book movies," but which very much are. Another interesting thing - I would guess book movies make up roughly a third of all the movies we own! (I did not include Disney's fairy tale adaptations.)

ReplyDeleteWhere the Wild Things I have at home :)
Time Traveler's Wife I hated (but then again I hated the book too).
The acting was awesome in My Sister's Keeper.
PS
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say. I visit lots of blogs but I instantly LOVED yours! :) When I love a blog I want to read more more more :)
I bought the book North and South after watching the movie. Haven't had a chance to read it yet though!
ReplyDeleteI also love your list because I'm going to read Jane Eyre and watch the movie for a challenge I'm doing. Now I know to rent the 2006 version!
My book wish list:
The Pacific (companion book to the HBO series) - Hugh Ambrose
The Swan Thieves - Elizabeth Kostova
The Girl Who Played with Fire - Stieg Larsson
Beatrice and Virgil - Yann Martel
Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower! I love your blog and became a follower as well! Love the list idea!
I will intensify your aching by mentioning that North and South is a must see, especially if you love Pride and Prejudice and its adaptations. Not that the story is similar per se. It's just that I think lovers of one or the other will need to see it.
ReplyDeleteI liked North and South better than the BBC Pride and Prejudice (but I'm probably the only one that feels that way). John Thornton is way more attractive than Mr. Darcy! He actually made me swoon and that NEVER happens to me while watching movies!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I went out and bought The Pacific today after listing it as being on my wishlist. I couldn't help myself!
I made a little list which you can see here.
ReplyDeleteI loved the North and South movie. There is something about Thornton...mmmmm...It is a must see. When you see it you should tell me what you think :)
ReplyDeletei just watched my sisters keeper last week for the first time. all i can say is "oh my gosh!" i will come watch your demanding baby so that you can watch it!
